Enter Week #8. In two weeks the chase for social co ed football immortality begins, Before that race starts its time for the 4 O'Clock game. This is a time for fun a time where winning and losing just doesn't matter. Take notice people because at 4 O'Clock a game will be played and this game will be remembered for the ages. The score will not matter the only thing that will matter is that all the people playing will enter the field of battle and care about one thing and one thing only: they will only care about having fun. 

Let's pick some games......

DIVISION Knucklehead

"I am not picking one game until the knuckleheads of D1 start behaving. That is all"

DIVISION  #2

THE REPLACEMENTS +13 VS REALLY ANGRY BUFFALO: TR have put in a valiant effort to date but they just seem destined for a trip to D3. They still have some talent and they have won some big games in this league it just appears that the rest of the division has flown right by them AB was on fire until last week when they got shocked by GNA. Nick Sooch can still do his thing but he must find a way to settle down a defense that looked in over the head against a really meh QB and a team that schemed AB to death.  This should be a game to get AB back on track they should roll.   ANGRY BUFFALO BY 11

TIGHT ENDS IN MOTION VS PRIME TIME PORK CHOPS +14:  TEIM is dialed in right now as they are playing super solid football. They are talented on both sides of the field and have a super smart QB who takes exactly what he is given by an opposing defense. TEIM will need to focus all their time and attention on Katie who is the franchise player for PTP. She is awesome and is literally un-coverable by any D2 female. TEIM will need to focus their attention to her as she is the only one that can do damage to them. TEIM will dink and dunk and play super solid football and by games end will have scored 13-17 points more than their opponents TIGHT ENDS IN MOTION BY 13

WITTERS VS BAD APPLES +7: Last time out Witters took BA to school but BA was missing their QB. Witters continued to throw everything but the kitchen sink on a defense that didn't know how to stop them. BA has come a long way in the past 3-4 weeks. They continue to mature and are starting to understand that simple football wins football games. 45 yds in 6 plays means 7.5 yards per play. Say it with me Bad Apples 45 yards in 6 plays means 7.5 yds per play. Witters will come to town ready for war but one must wonder if BA will finally have their whole team and if they do will this game be any different? I for one am not so sure yet....WITTERS BY 6

GRAY AND ASSOCIATES +3 VS NO MOHR DUBEY:  This match up could be good if both teams are at full strength. We so want the grudge match we were promised. Last time out GNA was not at full strength. The world wants these two to have at it mono e mono. We want to know if the old guard has anything left in the tank or if the new guard will use their speed and run right by them, Each team has strengths and weaknesses. The team that exploits the mistakes of the other better should take this. That new QB for NMD didn't look half bad last week and gave Travis an opportunity to play WR lets see if he plays this week as well.    NO MOHR DUBEY BY 1

GRAY AND ASSOCIATES VS BAD APPLES +1: This game has all kinds of interesting side stories. BA is younger and they are way faster,. GNA is way smarter. This game is being played at 400 which should benefit BA.   GNA will pick BA apart if they sit in a zone.  BA would be wise to man up and if Cody shows go to him early and often in this one as GNA will struggle to cover him.  I expect an interesting match up this week. Its the age old question who wins the fast young team or the smart old team?  Looks like we will find out at 5. GRAY AND ASSOCIATES BY 3

DIVISION #3

DMX +8 VS 1 TOPPER TOO MANY: 1 Topper Too Many is in the midst of a magical ride for the ages. Sans one brief and terrible judgement call against Bullet Club this team has been dialed in. They seem to have solid balance. They have size they have speed they continue to get production from their girls and the Topper is helping them win.  DMX was a fan favorite last session as they are just grip it and rip it on offense but this has not translated into as many victories as normal. 1TTM better be careful because this has "trap game" written all over it. Team Topper needs this game as the real season is about to begin. 1 TOPPER TOO MANY BY 6

HK3 +7 VS COBBLESTONE: This is a tale of 2 teams that are absolutely struggling right now. Each and every member of HK3 needs to do more to help their team win. On the other sideline each and every member of Cobblestone sans 1 must do a better job. Darryl Carr QB Superstar is still playing at the highest of levels. It is not his fault when his players don't give 130%. It is not his fault when his defenders can't run with opposing wrs. It is not his fault that he cant catch his own magical spirals. CS should take this game as they have the star that shines brighter than any mother in this game. COBBLESTONE BY 4

SHOWTIME VS SATURDAYS ARE FOR THE GIRLZ +7: This game should be interesting. Ricky FN Austin is dialed in and easily could be in the conversation for D3 MVP.  He is scoring at will and has a team that no one gave much of a chance in the off season legitimate hope as a D3 contender. SAFTG are having a decent session. They are led by JZ and Justin Martial Law Garbacz who have had an extra week to sit down view satellite photos of Ricky's offense and figure out some weird top secret scheme to defend him. Stopping Ricky will not be easy. I'm guessing Showtime takes this late. SHOWTIME BY 3

BULLET CLUB +7 VS STICKY BANDITS:  I know I say this almost each and every week but Bullet Clubs season is once again on the line this week.  They need wins and they need them now.. Cobblestone is probably beating HK3 this week which would in turn put immense pressure on the club to take this game. The problem is SB are dialed in and having a very solid session. Their game totally mirrors a team that platys "quite similar to them" in TEIM.   BC must have their stars this week to have any chance. Even if they do and that's a big if they then must beat a team that plays a very smart very methodical game.  Easier said than done. STICKY BANDITS BY 4

GRYFFINDOR +1 VS MICKEY RATS: The Gryff is finally starting to take shape as Joey Batts is once again not only the best player in D3 hands down but he is now starting to coach and consult and be a life teacher to his players. With his guidance and his wisdom Gryffindor are moving mountains with their minds as they are starting to get hot at the right time. MR was missing folks last week but they didn't look s hot against team Topper. Gryffindor will present a whole new set of problems.  These teams better get a good look at each other as I have a feeling they will be seeing each other again real soon.......   Gryffindor by 1

Joey Batts would like nothing better than to return the favor and help keep BC out of the D3 playoffs. Or will Joey Batts feel bad for the Club and let them win again like last year?  Hmmmmm.... GRYFFINDOR BY 6

DIVISION #4

WHY SO SERIOUS VS PASSLESS CHAPS +10: This game will not be good... it can't be good. WSS is dialed in right now and they are cruising. PC seem to need trip to D5 before they come back to D4. PC are struggling on offense and they cant stop anyone. The best team and offense in D4 is heading their way which is a recipe for disaster.  I don't see any scenario where WSS does not  win this game and win it big. WHY SO SERIOUS BY 14

AARP VS COME FROM BEHIND +1: There might not be a better story than AARP right now. They have come back from the ashes and have won 4 straight and this is a good thing. That my friends is the good news. But with good news there must also be bad news. I must ask the question is AARP a legit 4-2 or are they beating the bottom feeders and destined to lose to the big boys? CFB with Paul at the helm can beat almost anyone in D4. This game will be a very big test for AARP. They stand 4-2 but internally they must be asking the same question I am. The good news is by days end we should have our answer.   COME FROM BEHIND BY 3

HOMETECH +8 VS A&A: Ever since the Keller Era has begun no team has kicked their game up a nickel more than Hometech. Hometech was called out last week and oh boy did they answer the bell with 2 huge wins. A&A are still the D4 champs. They will bring everything but the kitchen sink with them as they will try to keep Hometech off balance with their top secret "plate of spaghetti" offense. It seems to be working as I have started to notice other teams in lower divisions try to emulate A&A. This is a copy cat league. As for the game the HT story has been a good one and yes they need to have an inter-divisional grudge match with 3rd and Schlong but on this day A&A rolls. A&A BY 9

AARP VS HUNG BUFFALO +6: This could be one of the most interesting games of the day. Both teams are mirror images of the other. Both have had winning streaks. The question still remains are these 2 teams for real or not? I see a very tightly contested battle here as this game has huge playoff implications. HB needs this game to get their confidence back. AARP needs this game to validate their winning streak. I expect bedlam in this one.   AARP BY 1

WHY SO SERIOUS VS COME FROM BEHIND +7: WSS seems super dialed in right now as they continue to crush every team put in front of them. They can score with anyone and play super solid D. They have a decent QB and probably the divisions best girls. CFB can make some noise down the stretch but their hopes are all tied to their QB. If Paul plays CFB can play with anyone if he does not play its game over. WSS has a real shot at running the table here and should take this one late.  If Paul doesn't show this game could get out of hand early.  WHY SO SERIOUS BY 5

BREW CREW +7 VS FULL THROTTLE:  Brew Crew is an up and down squad that can score and can play some D but they are very inconsistent. Like some other squads they can beat the teams they should but don't show well against the real D4 threats. FT seems to have taken the next step and they now seem to be upper echelon in D4. They appear to have solid balance on both sides of the ball and could be the dark horse as we head down the stretch. FT should take this one rather easily. FULL THROTTLE BY 8

HUNG BUFFALO VS INDECENT EXPOSURE +3:  IE finally got up off the mat with a big win over CFB last week. HB started out so strong with 3 quick wins but has been bounced 4 straight times and their faithful must be wondering if they have a chance at the title or if all hope is lost. This is a very important game for HB as they should take this game. If they win they will hold on to their slim chances of making some waves but if they lose you can turn out the lights because the party will be over.  HUNG BUFFALO BY 6

DIVISION #5

THE BAMBS VS DEMBOYZ +7: Demboyz are off to a very solid 3-1 start but I need to see more as their resume isn't overly impressive to date. This is the game we get to see who is who. The Bambs are crushing D5 right now as they could be the most balanced team in their division. QB check. Speed check. Size check.  Solid girls check. Solid supporting cast check. I mean if you look at their roster top to bottom all you keep doing is checking the boxes. And the more boxes you check means this team could be the creme of the crop in D5.  THE BAMBS BY 7

ALL WE DO IS QWINN VS HOPE N RUIN +1: There are those that claim that AWDIQ would have won the D6 title if they understood sub rules and got to play HNR on that now fateful day last session for all the marbles in D6. HNR walked away with the title and came up to D5.  Not to be un done AWDIQ chased them up to D5 as they awaited their rematch,. This game should be good people as there is more on the line than just bragging rights. Would AWDIQ have won that day? Was HNR always destined to win the D6 title? Who knows but what we do know is these 2 teams are having at it Saturday and that is almost just as good.   ALL WE DO IS QWINN BY 3

CHIX N DIX +10 VS 3RD AND SCHLONG:  The Keller Clan has showed up hardcore the past 2 weeks and have become instant fan favorites. We thought we had the guy when we interviewed Kevin but oh were we wrong. Jr is hysterical, Sr is hysterical, Nicole and 40 yr plan guy are also priceless and Katie "rhymes with "Heller (so I have been told) might be the Keller that steals the show. CND is not very good and they probably wont take this. If Kevin Keller was ever to score not on a Norwegian Cruise Line or in a row boat on his way to Strawberry Island this would be the week.  There are rumors swirling that the TSL is trying to get a GOLFCART LOVESTORY brewing this week. Stay tuned folks ..... 3RD AND SCHLONG BY 8

IRON BUTTERFLIES +7 VS SANTORAS:  Santora's in years past have been an above average team. Well this years version just isn't getting it done right now and it shows. IB is still having the same problems that have been haunting them for the longest time...they just can't score with the big boys in D5. IB is definitely a candidate for a trip to D6 next session.  Both teams need a win bad here but it just seems like Santora's will have more in the tank than IB will. Look for Santora's to cruise in this one.  SANTORAS BY 8

CUPCAKE VS SHAKE N BAKE STAMPEDE +9: SNB is off to a decent start this session and they have been a pretty solid competitor. They seem to have improved on both sides of the ball. They have gone from high end bottom feeder to above average squad this session. The problem this week is Cupcake is dialed in and easily could be the team to beat. Its looking more and more as each day passes that Cupcake and the Bambs are on a collision course with each other. SNB will bring the fight but I fear they are out manned and out gunned in this one.  CUPCAKE BY 10

DIVISION #6

FOOTBALLS DEEP +14 VS ACE:  Footballs Deep is struggling mightily and ACE is friggin dialed in right now. ACE is making it rain on offense and they are playing very stingy defense. Every D6 player is anticipating the inevitable battle between Matty's Angels and ACE. For now we get just another week. This means another ACE win where they score alot and Footballs Deep will score a little. Can anyone stop this juggernaut. ACE BY 13

RSS LADIES VS SANTAS SECRET SAUCE +7:  RSS is 3-3 and they continue to show well. SSS is 2-3-1 and they continue to struggle mightily on offense. SSS will need to figure out a way to stop the rabbits of RSS who are quick and can make gains on quick slants and eat up chunks of yardage. I am not sure if SSS can run with RSS in a track meet. SSS struggles to score and offense as this continues to be  their weakness. This feels like a 26-20 RSS win to me.  RSS LADIES BY 6

MATTY'S ANGELS VS COLLEGIATE SOLAR +10:  Solar is alot like SSS. They are off to a decent but not great 2-3-1 start but their offense continues to be their problem. MA has things on cruise control as they continue to destroy every team that TSL trots in front of them. MA can almost score at will and they play very under rated defense. It still feels like ACE and Matty's Angels are on a collision course with each other if you ask me. As for this game MA takes it running away. MATTY'S ANGLES BY 11

THE PRACTICE SQUAD +3 VS CELINO SEWER RATS: TPS is new and they are not off to a very solid start. They do have skill on both sides of the ball but they have yet to figure out how to truly play this game. Saying hey lets start a team and being a weekly threat to a division are 2 different things. The truth is TPS should be about 3-3 but they need more time and experience before they start winning games. On paper TPS is better than CSR. But this is why we play the games. CSR have more experience. They have been battle tested and this experience should will them to a very ugly victory. TPS in time will learn and before you know it this team will be a threat in D6. CELINO SEWER RATS BY 6

5 QUESTIONS FOR SATURDAY

1. Can Hung Buffalo stop the free fall and win a game this week? They have lost the last 4 and have 2 decent tests this week against AARP and an ever improving Indecent Exposure. Their season and more importantly their confidence hangs in the balance this Saturday. 

2.. Can anyone stop WSS from running the table and going 9-0? They have 2 very winnable games this week and then and easy one vs Brew Crew to finish up. It appears the only thing standing in the way of a 9-0 WSS is CFB this week. 

3. Will Bad Apples once again fall to Witter's or did they learn from their past mistakes? BA could pull the upset here but it will take alot of discipline and learning to do so. Witter's can be beat but it will take a very smart game plan and flawless execution to do so. Bad Apples have shown flashed of brilliance and other times look like a team that could get bounced in round #1 of the playoffs. They aren't there yet but they still have 2 weeks to get there. 

4. Who wins offense or defense? Will Justin martial law Garbacz take the day with his cutting edge defensive schemes or will Ricky FN Austin take the field of battle and make it rain on offense? If I was SAFTG I would bring rain coats.....

5. Can anyone stop the Bambs? They are 6-0 and have only really had two real tests so far this season. It is looking more and more like Cupcake and the Bambs are heading towards each other for all the marbles. When you think balance you think Bambs. They are quite impressive as they have size, speed, solid girls and a very heady very decent QB. That will be one tough team to beat down the stretch. 

10 final thoughts before game day

1.  The game I have my eye on this week is in D5 where Hope N Ruin takes on All We Do is Qwinn. Yes we are one session removed from the D6 title game where HNR beat a 5 person AWDIQ for the title. This time these 2 teams will get to go 6 on 6 for bragging rights. The D6 title will not be on the line but my guess is bragging rights will be. This one should be good. .  

2.  AARP will truly get to finally see what they are made of this week. They lost 2 in a row against the top teams then beat the 4 bottom feeders in D4. Now they must go heads up with CFB and Hung Buffalo. If AARP takes these 2 then all teams in D4 will be on notice but if they don't then this was just a really nice story for a month. Looks like we truly get to see what AARP has this Saturday.

3. The final battle for the last golden ticket to the D3 playoffs should be interesting. Cobblestone and Bullet Club will be battling till the end. Cobblestone has a very winnable game this week vs HK3 while BC will have 2 toughies against Sticky Bandits and Gryffindor. Bullet Club has huge pressure on them right now as they must find a way to win one of these 2 games. The only saving grace for the Club is they draw HK3 in week #9.

4.  Team Topper has been cruising along but if ever there was a trap game this is the week. DMX has not been as good as in sessions past but that does not mean they can't show up and beat Team Topper like 48-47 in a shoot out BTW shout out to Todd "Geoffrey" Nixon who will be out this session and maybe next as well after a softball injury. Get back soon Todd Team Topper needs you.

5. GNA has a real chance to get back into the race but they have 2 tough tests in No Mohr Dubey and Bad Apples. GNA has shown signs of life but will be tested. NMD wants another crack at them and they want them at 100%. NMD vs GNA is one of the more eagerly anticipated games of the season. Its Grudge Bowl if you ask me. 

6.  It's put up or shut up time for Santa's Secret Sauce. They have a winnable game on the schedule this week with RSS Ladies. If they take it they get back in the race. If they don't then I just don't see how they can be considered a playoff threat.  One thing is for sure if any SSS WR'S try and cover Margo this week please make sure to first put on ankle braces.

8.  I'm sorry but I like so many others (except 40 yr plan guy) am so hoping we will have a magical golf cart love story this week. We will all wait as one to see if Jon is working. Then we will need to know if he can love Katie "rhymes with Heller" the way we already know she can. There is so much on the line. I for one can't wait. 9. It appears its that time of the season again. We will once again have the traditional "4 O'CLOCK GAME." on the front field. Special thanks to Joe K, Tommy Hughes and The Prophet David Walter for organizing such an eagerly anticipated battle. We will have pop and circumstance and human field goal posts and Lord only knows what other kinds of Tom foolery. If you like watching a game where the only rule is all players must have fun then this is the game for you.

10. Who would have thunk we could have done a whole article without mentioning any D1 players or games? It almost makes you wonder if we are seeing a brief glimpse of things which are about to come. Wow no D1 mentions yet the article was still entertaining and other teams and players are doing positive things that can be mentioned. Who would have thought that D1 isn't the only story line in this league?  It's like the world doesn't revolve around D1 and their crappy attitudes and sportsmanship. HMMMMMMM Interesting..............
