Welcome back to the TSL QB Power Rankings!

Eyes Downtown vs Can’t Touch This!

Malones vs Freeballers!

Sticky Bandits vs Frodo Swaggins!

BQI vs Bullet Club!

PWI vs Let’s Get Reccked!

Grey Hair Don’t Care vs Mike’s Detailing!

Cunning Stunts vs Practice Squad!

Unlike last week (which was missing a lot of firepower with teams going on bye weeks) this week was FULL of action.  How did the Power Rankings shake up?  Let’s find out!

Bobby put up 59 points to stay undefeated on the season with a huge win over Can’t Touch This.  Did you think you’d see a new #1 QB this week?  Get real.

There was no Legends game this week but Cunning Stunts are still undefeated since Week One, which is pretty encouraging.  All eyes will be on Field 2 at 2 pm this week (we really couldn’t flex that to Field 1?) to see if Stunts can avenge their only loss to Grey Hair Don’t Care.  If they can’t, should we even bother having a D3 playoffs?  It’s Eickhoff’s to lose, and Joseph Battaglia is the strongest competition he’s got.

Mike doesn’t RISE in the Power Rankings for beating the snot out of a Garrett-less Frodo Swaggins (Topper probably could have Qbed the Bandits to that win… probably).  He rises in the Power Rankings by default, as Ryan Dougherty takes that big loss against Eyes Downtown.

The Malones are BACK!  With apologies to Rhace, who scored 84 points last week and promptly got benched, Andy is one of the top QBs in the League, and the Malones are a different team with QB1.  Imagine finishing with a high seed in D1 and your reward is facing Strug-to-Malikye??

Freeballers and PWI are two of the coldest teams in the League right now, and it feels like forever since either has gotten a quality win.  Does Buddy have a plan for the playoffs, or is it just “scramble scramble scramble, rocket launcher, lose because his team has no defense”?

Garrett stays on the Power Rankings despite his injuries.  The good news is, his backups probably aren’t a threat to his job security it seems?

We love Mark Dalfonso as a QB, but it’s going to be tough to climb the D3 standings as long as David Eickhoff and GHDC are in their way.  Mike’s are very good, but Grey Hair are just in a league of their own right now (literally – they should be D 2 ½).

BQI annihilated Bullet Club in their rematch from earlier this season.  Maybe they ARE the team to beat in D2 like everyone predicted.

That BQI game didn’t go very well for Jordan, but Victorious Secret outlasted Blitzkrieg in a game that might have determined the #1 seed in D5.  V.S. control their own destiny for the top seed, and their remaining opponents are a combined 7-11-1.

DXYZ and Let’s Get Reccked both won their respective games to keep Damien and Seth JUST on the fringe of the Top Ten.  All of these D2 teams (except maybe The System) are GOOD teams, but looking at the point differentials in the division it’s just tough to give any of them too great a shot against BQI in the playoffs.

B went 1-2 on Saturday as Practice Squad lost to the Stunts, Tater Thots blasted I’d Rather Be Golfing, and then the magic ran out against Flying Balls, who are surprising many (but not us) with their huge improvement this season.  Matt Glowacki is the real deal!  If you want to improve your team, get a stud QB!

Not So Sticky suffered their first loss of the season, which wasn’t THAT surprising (they’d been winning, but not by a lot).  Also not surprising is that the Blue Ballers handed them their first loss.  The Ballers have youth on their side (which Not So Sticky does not) and Phil is fantastic.  And we like his hat.

Poor Buffalo Vice keeps getting forfeit wins vs Cobblestone.  All told, Vice has played only three games this session, and had three forfeit outcomes as well.  They probably just want to play football!

Stop us if you’ve heard this before – PowerPuff Girls defeat Two Tuddies, in the League’s most one-sided rivalry.  Have the Tud Buds EVER beaten the Girls?

Let’s take a look at the best of the best, and the worst of the worst!  Here are your Top Ten Offenses, Defenses, and Point Differentials (+/-) through six weeks this season:

What stands out?

Victorious Secret, Grey Hair – Don’t Care and Select are the only three teams on each of the “best of” lists.  Blitzed and Confused is the ONLY team on each of the “worst of” lists (which is highly unusual, we should point out).

Also unusual: five of the top ten highest scoring teams are in D1 (and Freeballers, by the way, were #11) and three of the OTHER five highest scoring teams (BQI, Victorious Secret and Cunning Stunts) are full of D1 talent.  “But wouldn’t you expect the most competitive teams to score the most?”  Not really – they ARE going against the best defenders too.  Usually these Top Ten lists are fairly even with divisional representation.

It’s worth pointing out that the first name on the “Worst Defenses in the TSL” list is Legends.  Aren’t they typically the BEST defense in the League?  Yes, it’s obviously a product of their schedule (they’ve only played the 9th, 9th, 8th and 11th best offenses in the league so far) but it’s still strange to see them out of the Top Ten, let alone among the bottom ten.  Our guess is that this doesn’t last.

Are the Malones the most fun team in the League to watch?  Fourth in scoring, second to last in defense!  Sit on their sideline for thirty seconds and you’re bound to see someone score.

Three of the top six Best Point Differential teams play in D6!  Those playoffs are going to be a riot (unless you’re one of the other five teams…)

Show Me Your TDs League records of 0 PPG scored and 74.5 PPG allowed seem safe for another season.  Phew!
